Athlete of the Week: Mauricio Lopez Sanchez

This junior boys soccer goalie made about 25 saves (several of which were of the spectacular variety) to secure the team’s first-ever victory over perennial soccer powerhouse Seminaire Salesien on Friday. Not only did he make saves to keep the team in the game, but he also made a fantastic goal kick that led to the team’s game-winning goal! In a game played mostly in our defensive zone, the Grade 10 student from Mexico City was the rock we needed!  Congratulations, Mauricio!
